Karen Nagy
Licensed Professional Counselor
I am formerly a Physical Therapist, having extensive experience helping people to find the motivation and strength to recover after medical and physical injury. I loved the work of building relationships with my patients and getting to know what they value to encourage movement toward recovery and independence. I bring that experience into the counseling process, taking a holistic perspective of everyone, including mind, body, and spirit. Your environment and experiences are also unique.
I also offer a personal understanding of trauma and recovery. Working in mental health care is a passion of mine, and I want to help you as others have helped me. I believe there is always hope for change because I have experienced it myself! You have strengths and reliance that we can use to help you on your journey.
I am a wife and mother of four adult children and a foster mother. I am a board member with the Children’s Advocacy Center, Wayne County area, which provides forensic interviews and medical examinations to abused children because I value bringing safety and justice to the vulnerable.
